Most clients describe the sensation as light scratching or pressure — not painful. A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure begins and kept on for 20–30 minutes. Once numb, most clients are surprised by how comfortable the appointment is.
Sensitivity varies by individual, time of the month, and the treatment area. Lip blush tends to be more sensitive than brows. Eyeliner is very well-tolerated by most clients. If you are concerned about discomfort, mention it at your consultation — there are additional numbing options available.
In the week before your appointment, avoid alcohol, blood-thinning medications (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil), retinol or AHA products near the treatment area, and excessive sun exposure. Do not tint or wax your brows for at least a week prior.
On the day of your appointment, arrive with clean skin and no makeup on the treatment area. Eat a full meal beforehand — blood sugar drops can increase sensitivity. Avoid coffee the morning of if you are prone to jitteriness.
A detailed pre-care guide is sent to all clients after booking. If you have any questions, reach out before your appointment.
Initial brow appointments (nano brows, microblading, powder brows, combination brows) typically take 2.5 to 3 hours, including the consultation, brow mapping, numbing, and the procedure itself. Lip blush appointments are similar in length. Eyeliner appointments are slightly shorter at 2 to 2.5 hours.
Touch-up appointments are shorter — usually 1.5 to 2 hours — since much of the design work has already been done.
Do not plan anything directly after your appointment where your appearance matters. There will be redness and some initial darkness that softens significantly over the following week.
Most permanent makeup lasts 2 to 4 years before a color refresh is recommended. The exact timeline depends on your skin type, sun exposure, skincare routine, and the technique used. Powder brows typically retain the longest; hair stroke techniques may fade sooner, especially on oilier skin types.
Permanent makeup is designed to fade gradually and naturally — it does not turn blue or green like old-generation pigments when maintained properly. Using premium pigments and proper aftercare significantly extends the life of your results.
Yes — a follow-up touch-up is a standard part of the permanent makeup process, and it is included in the price of every initial treatment at D'Atelier. The touch-up is typically scheduled 6 to 10 weeks after your first appointment (8 to 12 weeks for lip blush).
During healing, it is normal for pigment to fade 30 to 50 percent. Some areas may heal lighter or patchier than others, depending on your skin. The touch-up appointment is where Džana assesses how your skin held the pigment and makes any adjustments needed — filling gaps, refining shape, or adding density.
Skipping the touch-up is not recommended. The final result is not fully visible until after healing and the follow-up.
You should avoid applying any makeup directly on or near the treated area for the first 7 to 10 days. This means no brow products, eyeliner, or lip color on healing skin during the initial peeling phase.
Once the surface has fully shed and is no longer sensitive, light makeup application is fine. You will receive detailed aftercare instructions after your appointment that cover exactly what to avoid and when.
Brows typically last 1-3 years depending on skin type and lifestyle. Lips can last 2-4 years. Annual touch-ups keep results looking fresh.
Most clients say it feels like light scratching. We use professional numbing cream before and during the procedure to keep you comfortable.
Nano brows use a machine with a fine needle, creating less trauma to the skin. This means better retention, especially on oily skin, and faster healing. The strokes look just as natural.
